Mrs. Hastings
Dear Fourth Grader,
Welcome to the North Wing and to N-5! It's hard to believe, but this will be my twenty-seventh year at Doyle. While I have taught first and second grades, the large majority of my time has been in fourth grade, and I love it! I look forward to learning and exploring with all of you. Ahhh, the growth we will make together will be incredible! We will MOVE MOUNTAINS!
My family and I made the most of this summer. We flew to Austin, Texas to visit family and friends and ate way too much TexMex and barbecue. In mid-July, we celebrated our grandson, Theo's third birthday. Then, we camped out at Lake George because our 6-year-old grandson has "wanted to go on an RV trip for his whole life." Finally, we finished off the summer with our annual family trip to the Jersey Shore. We enjoyed every minute of our family time together, but the most exciting part of this summer was finding out that we will be 'Mimi' and 'Pappy' to our first grandDAUGHTER. Our youngest daughter, Jenna, and son-in-law, Justin, are expecting a baby girl in early February. We can't wait to meet our third sweet grandchild. Hopefully, our son Joe will be returning from his bike trip across the U.S. in time to greet his niece as well! We look forward to the best Valentine's Day gift ever!
Now that you know a little bit about me and how I spent my summer, I hope that you'll be ready to share a bit about yourself and your summer as well.
Most importantly, on the first day of school, the thing you must not, cannot, will not forget is your smile and your positivity. Together, we're going to make it a great year.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. I can't wait to hear about your adventures and begin new ones together.
Fondly,
Mrs. Lori Hastings
